2008-09:
Had a career-best five-point game in 11-0 win over Northland on opening
night...Scored a hat trick and added an assist in a 5-0 win over Lake Forest
on November 21...Added a goal and two assists the next night in 4-3 win over
St. Norbert...Was named WIAC Player of the Week for the week of November 24...Scored
game-winning goal against UW-Stevens Point on December 5 and again the next
night against UW-Eau Claire...Named 2009 All-NCHA...Received 1st Team
All-WIAC honors for the second time in his career...Scored twice in a 3-0
win over St. Norbert in the NCHA semifinals...Named 1st Team All-American. 2007-08:
Switched jersey numbers from 19 to 9...Suffered a shoulder injury in the third
game of the season against Northland and missed 11 games...Figured into all
three goals with a goal and two assists in a 3-3 tie with Gustavus on January
12. 2006-07:
Led team in scoring as a freshman, despite missing four
games with a shoulder injury sustained against St. John's January 14...Didn't
score a goal until his sixth game of the season, but then went on a tear picking
up ten in the next seven games...Had a hat trick against Stevens Point on
December 2...Scored the game winning goal against River Falls on December
9...Named 1st Team All-WIAC.
Before UWS:
Played with the
Olds Grizzlys of the AJHL...Was housed with current Yellowjacket Rob Turville's
family...Scored 25 goals and 43 assists for 68 points in 59 games last season to
lead the team in scoring...Ranked 17th in goals, 10th in assists and 12th in
points in the AJHL...Played in the 2005-06 AJHL All-Star Game.

Born June 8, 1985...Son of Len and Sandra Desmet...Older
brother Taggart played college hockey at Michigan Tech University and also spent
several years playing professional hockey...Older sister Tristan played
Division I hockey at the University of Maine...Younger brother Keenan plays
for Salmon Arm in
the BCHL.
