| 'Jackethockey.com Gets Much Needed Makeover |
| The 2008-09 season will be
a season of new looks. On the ice, the 'Jackets will have some
new players in the fold. Those players, along with the
returning veterans, will all be wearing new duds, as the program
will be sporting new jerseys both at home and on the road. But
the changes aren't exclusive to the on-ice product.
Jackethockey.com will also get a makeover, with a new look
throughout the site in time for the beginning of the 08-09 season. "I thought it was about time to give things a new look. The site has essentially been the same since I started it and things just got kind of stale," said Jon Garver, who started the site in 2001. "I'll be the first to admit that I didn't spend as much time on things the last couple years as I had in the past. The design, the content, everything slipped, but we'll be getting back to the way things were when we first started doing it. People came to expect certain things from this site and we plan on delivering that and exceeding their expectations next season." The redesign will include a cleaner look plus added features such as player profiles and more up-to-date facts and statistics. "We decided to get away from the black pages because it was too tough to read for some people. The white space will give it a much cleaner look and make it easier for everyone to read or to print," Garver said. "We're also considering a few different things to do during the season to give people more information and more of an inside look at the program. I think people will be happy with the changes. But it is a work in progress. Changes and updates are always being made." Stay tuned as further changes will be made to the site in the days and months leading up to the season. |
