BEISWENGER NAMED WIAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Yellowjacket goaltender Chad Beiswenger (Sr. Moorhead, Minnesota) has been named WIAC Player of the Week, for his performance the weekend of November 14-15.

On Friday night, Beiswenger made 29 saves and allowed just one goal in the 'Jackets 3-1 win at UW-Stout.  Included among his saves was arguably Beiswenger's best save of the year, throwing the glove up high while lying on the ice to spear a rebound attempt during a Stout flurry early in the third period.  The next night, Beiswenger made 20 saves in picking up his second shutout of this season and the 11th of his career in a 3-0 win at UW-River Falls.

Beiswenger was 2-0-0 with a 0.50 goals against average and a .980 save percentage for the week.

"Last season, Chad was one of the best goaltenders in the country, but nobody really knew it because he was overshadowed; not just in the country, but in the NCHA.  Our league had some great goaltending last year," Yellowjacket Head Coach Dan Stauber said.  "This season he has picked up where he left off and the conference recognized the job he did behind our team in winning two games on the road in two tough places to play.

"I'm happy for Chad and hope that this is just a precursor of things to come as the season progresses."
