FOR mom and dad

Friday night is Parents Night at Wessman Arena, and the 'Jackets will honor their parents.

"When we talk about these young men and what they do in school and on the hockey rink, the thing that we always seem to overlook are the parents," said Yellowjacket Head Coach Dan Stauber.  "Most teams have a parents night, but that doesn't even come close to showing the appreciation that the players have for these people and that we have for these people.

"What we do and what these kids do is only possible because of their parents.  I know we, as a staff and as a university certainly understand that.  And the players don't always say it, but they understand it, too."

But here they did say it.  Below are a few words from each of the Yellowjacket seniors for their moms and dads.

Ryan Kuntz:  "My mom has been the most supportive person in my life, always encouraging me to follow my dreams and never look back.  She has the biggest heart in the world, and that's evident when you meet her.  My dad will not be at parents night, but his dedication to my career and life is a testament to true sacrifice. He would give up anything he has to make my life a better place to be for me and my brother.  And my brother.  He will be in for parents weekend.  He is the reason I live.  He's my heart and soul and my best friend. Without him I would be lost."

Rob Turville: "Mom and Dad, thank you for the loving and caring support throughout my career.  You have molded me into the person I am today and I am forever thankful.  You have helped make my hockey experience one that I will cherish for the rest of my life.  Love Rob"

Eric Bausano: "I would like to thank my parents for all that they have done to make me the person that I am.  They deserve more credit than can ever be given to them.  I will forever appreciate their care and compassion in supporting me in every aspect of my life and everything I have yet to accomplish.  Thank you!"

Chad Beiswenger: "I just want to say thanks to my parents for putting in the time and effort of supporting me throughout my hockey career."

Seth Reda: "Thank you mom and dad for all the time and effort that you guys have put in over the years.  You both have been an instrumental part in my life and my hockey career.  All that I am I owe to you.  Love Seth."

Andrew MacKenzie: "Thank you for all the support throughout the years of school and hockey, my accomplishments could not have been achieved without you."

Kevin Huck: "I would like to say thank you for dedicating your time and efforts throughout my life and all the experiences I've come across along the way.  I'm so grateful to have such caring parents that go out of their way to make the people they love feel appreciated.  The success I've had in hockey and all the other accomplishments I've had in life is a result to all the efforts you both have put forth while raising me.  The influence you've had on my life is and has been more then I could possibly ask for, you've encouraged me to be the person I am today.  Thank you again for everything, I greatly appreciate it!"

Jeff Herman: "I would like to thank my parents Bill and Heather Herman for the hard work, sacrifice and support over the course of my hockey career.  I would not be in the position, or the person I am today without you.  Thank you for providing me with the opportunity I have today. Love, your son, Jeff."
